The Real Path To Big Bucks On The Internet!

July 30th, 2008 at 8:23 pm (Marketing Parlor)

“Instead Of Wasting Time Trying To Hit The Lottery Of Internet Riches, Focus On Building Your Business One Sweet Income Stream At A Time!”

Eric (one of my JV partners) experienced an epiphany yesterday. He had one of those rare moments of insight that can forever change your life.

In the 5 or 6 years that I’ve known Eric, the number one question on his mind is how he can find that magical combination of product and website that will instantly create a hundred thousand dollar monthly return. Preferably, without a lot of work.

Then, he tripped over a site yesterday describing how one company had websites that only made between $100 and $200 each. But they’ve got over 2,000 websites. Do the math.

You may have heard the phrase that there’s at least a million ways to make a million bucks. I believe it.

While I am a major proponent of “thinking big,” I’m also realistic.

I didn’t create a massive income overnight from one magical success. Instead, I’ve got a bountiful array of income streams that add up to incredible numbers.

Yes, normal people (those that don’t spend as much as my wife and I do) could live comfortably on some of the individual checks that come in. On the flip side, if I lost any one of the income streams, I’d be inconvenienced. But my spending habits wouldn’t even require an adjustment.

I’ve got to give credit to my friend Robert Allen for beating this into my head several years ago. You’ve probably seen his bestselling book series on “Multiple Streams Of Income”. By the way, you can find me as a contributor to “Multiple Streams Of Internet Income”.

From a security standpoint, it’s great to have lots of different checks come in each month.

Looking at a business start-up, it’s much easier to get some different $200 to $1,000 checks each month than it is to create that magic smash success.

How do you do this? Consider this idea — pick a target market or product or MLM – something…anything. Just pick something to focus on that you can set on autopilot.

Here are some real examples:

- a networking company that I promoted one time to my mailinglist about 3 years ago sends me weekly checks ranging from $20 to $180.

- another networking company that I promote with a couple of website links kicks in about $3,500 a month.

- I refer people through an affiliate program to a product that includes recurring billing and my most recent check was over $2,400.

Notice – I’ve not even mentioned selling my own products yet…

Some of those sell tens of thousands of dollars. Others just sell a few hundred.

- for example…I bought the master resale rights to one product and set up a pre-packaged website. Took a couple of hours to do that and get it submitted to the search engines. Added a couple links to websites. The site probably averages one $40 sale per day with no advertising cost.

While $1,200 a month isn’t going to make you rich, it will make a mortgage payment for some or a car payment on a very luxurious automobile for others.

What if you just followed this simple pattern of setting up a few different deals that each brought in several hundred dollars a month? What would your monthly income be in a year?

Most of these little deals run on auto-pilot. Set it and forget it. Just cash the checks when they come in.

And they will come in if you follow this plan.

And if you’d like a serious shortcut to getting started with these types of deals, then pay close attention to your email inbox early this week. I’m launching an incredible marketing system that will let you just plug in and go.

Yours in success,

Larger Dog Food Isles

July 30th, 2008 at 1:58 pm (Marketing Parlor)

Grocery Stores could use some larger Dog Food Isles. Not because there are more brands of Dog Food. Not because there are more Pets. Not because there are more items for sale. The reason is that the level of quality of food Americans are eating these days is less than that of dog food. Have you recently read the ingredients of the food you are eating, with all the chemicals in it? The ingredients and chemicals on some of these labels certainly is not fit for human consumption.

Nor would you feed such food to your best friend and four-legged companion; at least I hope you wouldn’t. But we all have tossed our dogs scraps from time to time, stuff that cannot possibly be good for them, as their evolutionary food supplies came from things they ate, not processed crap and chemical laden foods. Their systems are not set up to eat such things. Now, then so far you have not said a word, you have read this article and agreed with it for the most part, nodding your head. So then do you wonder why humans who eat this food, are over weight, having health issues and are finding themselves at odds with their ambitions and life goals? Why they lack the energy to press on, or become lethargic when a task needs to get done? Could it be the food we are eating? Eating food that taste good from that special blend of chemicals to spike the taste buds, to the point we no longer smell the food we eat and simply wait for that perceived sugar flavor, which is not sugar at all really, just more simulated chemicals that appears to be sugar.

If we put all the food which has all this stuff in it in the dog food isle, then there would be 22 isles of dog food and 5 isles of real food and of course we would all know what side of the store to shop on to stay healthy and fit. Think on this.

Is an eCommerce Web Site Necessary for Your Business?

July 30th, 2008 at 8:24 am (Marketing Parlor)

An ecommerce web site is the main tool that internet-based
businesses use to advertise, their products and services, to make
their sales presentation, to close sales, and to process orders
and payments. Every internet-based business doesn’t necessarily
need an ecommerce web site. Whether or not an ecommerce web site
is needed really depends upon the type of business and the
purpose of the website.

To decide what type of website you need for your internet
business, it is useful to learn about the most common types of
websites and their purposes. A very basic website, sometimes
called a static website, is primarily used for advertising or
lead generation purposes. A static website or lead generation
website is a website that aims to generate business leads and
this type of website is commonly used by service companies and
professionals who wish to provide an overview of their business
to attract interest from potential customers.

This type of website, using techniques such as offering free
newsletters, is very good for generating leads as well as
building an opt-in list of potential clients and their contact
information. Building an opt-in list is very useful for email
marketing, direct mail marketing, and even telemarketing.
Sometimes an ecommerce web site also serves as a lead generator
as well as a sales tool.

Another type of website that is commonly used by businesses is a
content site. Content websites serve one or more of three main
purposes – 1) to generate revenue through subscription fees; 2)
to generate revenue from third-party advertising; or 3) to build
a business’s or individual’s credibility. A content site that
aims to attract paid subscribers for the purpose of revenue
generation may need to be an ecommerce web site as well since
there are actually fees involved with the use of the subscription
service. A content site used for the purpose of generating
advertising revenue may or may not need to be an ecommerce web
site.

If you are selling advertising spots on your content website to
third parties, they will need to make payments to order their
advertising space, so ecommerce web site capabilities may be
useful. Sometimes content sites are used to generate advertising
revenue through the use of Google’s AdSense program. Since the
program uses the content of the site to draw in and display
relevant advertisements and the revenue generated is from click-
throughs for the Google ads, an ecommerce web site is not
necessary because the business itself doesn’t actually process
any orders or payments from website visitors.

Sometimes businesses set up a website for the sole purpose of
providing self-serve customer service options. A bank website
where account holders can view their accounts is a good example
of a service website. In most cases, a service website does not
need to be an ecommerce website because it doesn’t handle things
like orders and payments, though it may have self-serve options
that enable customers to transfer funds between accounts or to
make online payments.

The fourth commonly used type of website is an ecommerce web
site. The main purpose of an ecommerce web site is to sell either
products, services or a mix of the two. Since an ecommerce web
site is a sales tool, it generally contains sales copy along with
what is commonly referred to as ecommerce solutions. These
“solutions” that are sometimes used for an ecommerce web site
include online catalogs, shopping carts, and automated order
systems that actually collect orders from customers and process
the payments. Advanced options for an ecommerce web site may
include automated customer service communications such as
delivery of order confirmations and shipping confirmations by
email. Ecommerce web sites may also contain features that are
common to other types of websites.

Are You Working Towards Success?

July 28th, 2008 at 9:57 am (Marketing Parlor)

To some people it means driving a flash car and flashing wads
of cash around to show they are doing well.
To others it is spending time with their family, having
achieved happiness in their life.

Your personal idea of success, and being successful will
differ from someone else’s, but is very important to you.
Without spending some time thinking about your success, how
will you know if you are achieving it?
Take some time now and think about it.

Now start working towards it, and set goals to make you
successful.

Goal setting is important to your success, so you better
do it right too. Here are some important things to remember
about goal setting

1. break your main goal (success) into smaller ones

These small steps towards an ultimate goal are in some
circles known as “eating the elephant” because you
couldn’t eat the whole elephant in one go, but cutting it
into bite sized chunks makes it possible to achieve
a seemingly impossible task.

2. Don’t set unachievable goals- when you don’t hit them
they will be a major setback.

You wouldn’t decide to climb mount Everest on your first
hill walk or expect to build your own house because you
have a new toolkit, so be realistic about your goals here too.

3. Write them down, and make them real, also imagine life
as it will be when you have achieved each goal.

The human mind works on visualization, athletes across the world
use this technique, seeing themselves in their own minds eye
crossing the finish line first. They imagine how it feels, the
sound of the crowds cheering etc. Then the mind can focus on making
it real.

4. If you miss a goal, or deadline, take it as a minor
setback not total failure, and try again.

The best analogy I’ve heard for this is of an ocean liner
crossing thousands of miles of sea. On its way it may drift off
course many times, but the captain will make a slight adjustment
to get it on track each time. He knows its not a total failure
to be slightly amiss along the way as long as you correct it and
end up where you are going.

These steps will take you towards your individual success ideal,
whatever it may be. You will meet adversity, and failure along
the way, but take it in your stride.
Always keep just your next small goal in mind and eventually you
will find you have reached and even surpassed the main goal you
had set, without even noticing it.

Great Web Hosting – What to Look For!

July 26th, 2008 at 9:30 am (Marketing Parlor)

Web hosting can best be described as a modern-day
marriage: none of this till death do us part stuff, it’s
more like I’ll stick around as long as your uptime is 100%,
you answer my frantic queries instantly, and you charge me
less than a decent latte at Starbucks. What follows is a
few tips to help make the relationship less rocky and
possibly prosperous!

First of all, we all need to take a little responsibility
and at least figure out what we think we need from a web
host up front. This isn’t always as easy as you might
imagine. You don’t always know your exact needs ahead of
time, and sometimes these things are difficult to forsee.
Your site may become hugely popular, requiring more
bandwidth or storage than previously thought. You may
decide to have data feeds hosted on your site, which will
gobble up resources. On online store can do the same. One
way I’ve found myself in the position of having to change
web hosts is when a technology you want to use or implement
on your site isn’t supported by your host. This will (and
did!)prompt a move.

Ask friends and associates who they use. While their needs
may be somewhat different than yours, basic issues such as
support and uptime will be evident, as will cutomner
satisfaction. Check out several of the web hosting
directories, as they maintain a wealth of current
information regarding the specifics you’re interested in.
Come armed with a list of things you’re looking for and
narrow your choices down using this.

Make sure you can grow with this new host. Not only in the
size of your current sites, but also number of domains and
subdomains you can host there. If you’re anything like me, I
want to be able to get the most bang for my hosting buck!

In short, due your homework, check them out, do your part in
knowing as specifically as possible what you’re after, and
make your choice. This could be the beginning of a beautiful
friendship!
