Nose Job Consultations
For any woman or man unhappy with the appearance of his or her nose, a nose job consultation is a good way to get a realistic expectation of the process, procedure and results of an operation on the nose. A plastic surgeon, such as the UK’s Dr. Alan Kingdon, will ordinarily begin the consultation by asking the patient where his or her dissatisfaction lies with the nose. Once that is established, the plastic surgeon will perform a painless and relatively quick examination of the outer and inner structure of the nose.
The doctor is looking to see if there are extenuating circumstances for the nose’s appearance, such as a deviated septum. If a deviated septum is found, he may want to perform a surgery that straightens this nasal canal which will result not only in an improved appearance, but also in easier breathing and less snoring.
After the examination is complete, the doctor can give the patient an idea on how the nose can be surgically altered. The surgical procedure will be discussed, demonstrating briefly what it entails and the length of the time the patient can expect to be in surgery and recovery.
The doctor will then give the patient a good idea of the results that he or she can expect. Many surgeons today have computer software programs that show the patient on a screen how he or she might look after surgery. Additionally, most plastic surgeons have photographs of former patients that demonstrate his results and the style of his alterations.
Once a patient has decided that a nose job is in order, the doctor or his staff will discuss prices and payment schedules and schedule a time for the procedure.
