Here is Stephen Schwarzman’s story. Forbes Magazine named Stephen the 53rd most wealthy person in America recently, but it is his remarkable success in the business sector and his generosity to education and the arts which make this tale different. Steve’s biography illustrates that the keys to a successful life are indeed work and determination.

The Blackstone Group was initially launched by Stephen A. Schwarzman and Peter Peterson as a business extending top of the market financial advice and equity management. In the course of time, it has evolved into a world leader in M&A; but he did not lead his own venture right off the bat. Stephen grew up in surburban Philadelphia. Then he went on to graduate from Yale University in 1969. Harvard Business School near Boston was the next step in his education, where he received his Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1972. Then he joined with Lehman Brothers investment bank, situated in New York. By the age of thirty one, he had been appointed a director.

Stephen A. Schwarzman gives to a wide variety of educational programs as well as serving as an adjunct professor at the illustrious Yale School of Management. As another example of his engagement, he is the Chairman to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. In addition, he proudly announced on March 11, 2008 that he was committing a hundred million dollars to the New York Public Library to back their building project. He also serves on their board of trustees.

It is hardly surprising that Stephen Schwarzman is accepted as one of America’s elite — Times Magazine in 2008 named Stephen as one of the one hundred most influential people in the world. His quick rise in the business and financial sectors is nothing short of amazing, not to mention the fact that his unceasing support of music and the arts has doubtlessly encouraged everybody around him.

It would seem that at the moment, Stephen has it all. To summarize, Stephen Schwarzman has, in retrospect, had a remarkable influence on both the business and financial communities and the world in general.
