Do Not Fool Yourself to Get an Internet Engineer
I am recently having problems with my wireless setup. As soon as, I get connected to other networks apart from my home network it gets disconnected in about five minutes. Probably if I was not able to connect to the web at all then I would blame it on my own incompetence as I am not a pc freak, however I do get by without too many problems.I tried to repair the issue myself but exhausted all of my technical know how as a result had no alternative but to call the hardware supportline provided by my internet service provider. I knew that it isn’t going to be a nice experience, earlier also I had trouble with them when I had a problem. I do not understand why many of the British call centres are outsourced to India, as I’m saying this doesn’t mean I am a racist. Although the Indian representatives are usually very well mannered, they do tend to sound like robots repeating the similar thing again and again and not tending to actually reply your query with an easy and direct yes or no. Anyway so I get through to a consultant after about twenty minutes of waiting on a national price number, though I had previously paid a premium for this “fast and easy” computer support. Simply to locate I had pressed the incorrect key on the long list of choices at the start of the call. The operator then put me through to the correct section after another 10 minute wait in an added queue. I spoke to the consultant and he diagnosed my internet line and informed me that there’s a tiny malfunction and that I would have to pay for an engineer to come and repair the problem. On asking the consultant about the cost for the same, I got a really hazy response saying that it depends whether there is an engineer in your region. I said that what is the point of spending cash every month for the computer support when I have to pay the engineer. It was like lets face it, as the problem was with the telephone line and not with my computer settings. I then received the same tired reply time and again, it was like talking to a brick wall so I declined an engineer visit and looked for other alternatives. So, I called my friend Bruce, who is a little bit of techy to see if he might help. He came round to my residence and fixed the issue in actually 2 minutes, he said there was only a setting that was improper on my pc, so why did the call centre agent state that there was an issue with the telephone line? The answer to get extra money out of me!
